A PPC enquiry is not always campaign-ready

When a prospect asks for more customers through Google Ads, the actual constraint might be limited search demand, weak landing-page conversion, unreliable tracking or an unclear offer. Qualifying these conditions before selling account management protects delivery quality and buyer expectations.

Five useful qualification signals

Understand the business goal and meaningful conversion, target market and buying process, media budget versus service fee, account and analytics access, and who can approve and begin the work. A budget range is more useful than false precision.

Three very different projects

Local service business: geographic reach, call handling and available demand can dominate. B2B SaaS: longer sales cycles and CRM qualification matter more than raw lead counts. Ecommerce: product feeds, margin, inventory and returns become important. One campaign template should not be the answer to all three.

Validate tracking before making promises

Check conversion definitions, duplicate counting, data quality, consent dependencies and account permissions. An advertising-platform conversion is not always a qualified opportunity. Specify what the discovery phase will validate and who is responsible for fixing gaps.

Separate spend from service scope

Distinguish media budget, agency fees, creative production, tools and landing page work. A bounded audit can be more sensible than a major retainer for a small account. Complex programmes need testing governance, reporting, feed management and cross-team coordination.

Questions that establish fit

Which customers are most valuable? Which conversions can be verified? What has already been tested? Can the buyer change landing pages? Who approves spend and messaging? Are there advertising restrictions? What happens after a lead enters the sales process?

Know when to decline

Requests for guaranteed ROI, refusal to provide basic account transparency, no viable sales process or expectations that paid media alone will repair an unclear offer are reasons to reset scope or walk away.
